Welcome to MJCDS!

Kids in the ParkMJCDS is a pluralistic, Jewish elementary school in Madison, Wisconsin.

An MJCDS education inspires students to love learning, to think critically, to engage with Jewish life and heritage, and to develop a profound sense of community and responsibility.

With low student to teacher ratios, MJCDS offers a unique educational opportunity for each child. Our teachers are able to take the time to get to know each child’s learning style, strengths and interests.  Our highly trained educators challenge and nurture each student, fostering curiosity, independent thinking, leadership skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

Curious Minds, Jewish Hearts

Clara's ClassMJCDS offers academic excellence in both general and Judaic studies. Every day, our students learn to approach contemporary questions in Jewish ways. The values of tzedakah (charity), tzedek (justice), tikkun olam (repairing the world), derech eretz (respect and decency), and gemilut hasadim (acts of kindness) come alive through our studies, projects and community activities. Every week, our program includes physical education, music, and art, which are vital aspects of elementary education.

Students are involved in the broader Madison community through interaction with students of other faiths, visits with senior citizens, and service projects. Currently a K-4 school, next year MJCDS will add a fifth grade. We welcome new students at all grade-levels.
